About the Role

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Coordinator is responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of the Endfire Work Health & Safety System across the organisation. The WHS Coordinator will work with the various management Teams to identify hazards, assess any risks to health and safety and identify appropriate safety controls that can be put in place by the Management Team.

The WHS Coordinator will be the first point of contact for information, advice and guidance to Endfire staff in relation to WHS legislation and compliance and is responsible for providing advice on incident prevention and occupational health and safety to managers and workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Workplace Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits, ensuring compliance with local legislation and company standards.
  • Manage WHS reporting, including incident reports, investigations, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate and deliver WHS training programs for staff including safety inductions, ensuring understanding and compliance.
  • Liaise with external regulatory bodies and maintain up-to-date knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices.
  • Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and WHS committee discussions.
  • Manage injury and incident investigations and ensure the completion of corrective actions.
  • Oversee the return-to-work programs and assist in injury management for affected employees.
  • Maintain accurate WHS records, documentation, and reporting in the company’s WHS Safety Management system.
  • Assist Management Team in ensuring Endfire remain BPIQ compliant through reporting and submissions.
  • Travel may be required to sites dependent on job locality.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification (minimum).
  • Work Health and Safety Officer Certificate of Authorisation (desirable).
  • Experience using Hammertech software (desirable).
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar WHS role.
  • In-depth practical understanding of Work Health and Safety Legislation and applicable Australian Standards.
  • Proficiency in Hazard Management principles.
  • Skill in identifying safety issues and devising comprehensive corrective plans.
  • Competency in incident investigation and corrective recommendations.
  • Proficient in preparing and delivering WHS training.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with teams across all levels.
  • Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in safety-related matters.
  • Experience with incident investigation and risk assessment processes.
